“Nobody’s getting out of here alive.”

This familiar war movie line is at the core of Ralph Arlyck’s deeply personal, funny movie about life on the last lap.

In a world that celebrates youth, productivity, and pizazz, I LIKE IT HERE can open up deeper conversations about the emotional aspects of entering one's last lap.  People are moved by this movie.  And they’re often eager to talk about it. The film tries to mitigate fears about dying by making a case for the lightness and calm that can accompany decelerating in our relentless race forward.

A white horse stands on a grassy field surrounded by trees and a fenced area, with a house and leaf-covered ground in the background.
A woman sits outside at a table with a drink, smiling. She has dark hair pulled back and is wearing a patterned dress. The background includes a wooden fence and trees.
A black and white photo of a shirtless man in shorts and flip-flops holding a fencing sword in a playful pose, beside a pregnant woman in a bikini also holding a fencing sword, with a brick building in the background.
